Tasting & Consultation
All consultation is done virtually, the process starts with email to gather the initial information, then a free 15 minutes discovery call. After the initial details are finalised, a booking fee is paid to secure the date. A date for a sketch delivery is agreed, we will also schedule a further design consultation to go over all the details.
Tasting is done via our tasting box which is available periodically. If you would like a tasting box please email for the next date.
At the point of enquiring we ask that you kindly supply the following
*your wedding date,
*name and full address of your venue,
*a detailed description of your dream wedding cake,
*any special dietary requirements or allergies
*wedding cake budget
Sharing your ideal cake shape/numbers of tiers, serving number required, your mood boards, invitations, any image or colour schemes or design elements that you would like us to use to as inspiration will help the process.
We also highly recommended you give us your wedding cake budget at this point. This means that we can discuss with you what we can offer for your budget.
Once we receive all the information, we would send you a quote.
We aim to finalise all details 8 to 12 weeks before your wedding date (this may be less during busy periods but 4 weeks before) Final balance is due 4 weeks before your wedding date.
Tasting are available via tasting boxes which are posted via next day service but can also be collected from us. We can only send to a UK address. The tasting boxes contains 6 set flavours and are available periodically, you can register your interest by contacting us or look out for advertisements on our social media pages and website. Price to be announced at time of each release. If you require a flavour not in the set, you can order a small 4inch size of the flavour.
Cake Delivery and venue set up
We strongly recommend delivery and set up of wedding cakes especially tiered cakes. Delivery charges are calculated based on mileage and travel time. This means that we will have your cake correctly displayed. Alternatively we can deliver the cake boxed to the contact person. We will give you an arrival time based on information provided by yourself/planner or your venue dresser regarding time the venue will be ready.
Your cake can also be collected from our studio, please note that once collected, full responsibility for the safety of the cake lies with the client, LolasBakes is not liable for any damage to the cake once it has left the premises.
Our Price Guide
Each cake is bespoke and created specifically for each couple as such a firm price would be supplied once your requirements are known. The final price will be determined by choice of flowers, addition of intricate textures etc.
The guide below shows starting prices for tiered cakes. All tiers are approximately 6″ high and made up of 4 layers of sponge and 3 layers of filling. Fondant iced cakes are covered with white or dark chocolate ganache before being covered with fondant icing for a crisp and flawless finish.
**Please kindly note, there is a minimum spend of £300.00, excluding delivery & set up charges. **
**Taller tiers and double barrel (approx.10-12 inches) cakes, as well as other shapes and larger tiers are also available
